The MIL-STD-810F certified A770 series is the most rugged and heavy-duty portable computing platform available in the industry. It comes standard with the new Intel® Pentium® M processor 1.4GHz to offer low power consumption, low heat generation, and significant improvement in battery operating life over any rugged laptops. The A770 is configured with a 1.4 or optional 1.6 GHz Intel® Pentium® M processor, up to 1 GB DDR RAM, hard drives up to 60 GB, and screen sizes of 12.1 / or 14.4” with touch screen and sunlight-readable options.
Getac's A770 provides additional expandability capabilities. These include an open option Bay 2 with internal PCI connector that supports a wide variety of options including two additional com ports (RS232, RS422, or RS 485), two additional PCMCIA slots, a SCSI-2 port, DGPS or wireless modules, an auxiliary battery, or fixed floppy drive (allows the notebook to operate with floppy, hard drive and CD/DVD simultaneously)
To accommodate the on-the-go nature of its users, the A770 provides multiple wireless communications solutions, including IEEE 802.11b Wi-Fi connectivity, GSM/GPRS and DataTAC connectivity, which allow access to the Internet through a cellular network.

Test-Proven Ruggedness:
The unit's sealed casing is fully qualified to MIL-STD-810F and MIL-STD-461E. The die-cast magnesium case is completely sealed to prevent infiltration from rain and dust. Units are designed to survive 15G accelerations and drops of 3 feet.
Sunlight Readable LCD and Touch Screen:
The A770 comes with a choice of a 12.1 or 14.1" XGA LCD display. The optional sunlight readable LCD provided for clear viewing in direct sunlight. The available touch screen display, complete with stylus and creates an intuitive user interface.
Wireless Communications:
The A770 provides 802.11b compliant wireless communication and optional GPRS and DGPS communications.
Freezing temperature operation:
The A770 is built to handle frigid conditions. The notebook can even be certified for working in 0°C/32°F or optional -20°C/-2°F temperature.
